9 Rules for Escape Room Success

1. Assemble a team for teamwork: puzzle nerds and overthinkers, observant, organized and detail-oriented, contemplators, even brooders and all a bit anxious

3. Organize your discoveries: Don’t let clues turn into a chaotic treasure chest—keep them sorted, or risk a mental meltdown later!

4. Trust your instincts—puzzles are solvable! Remember, puzzles are designed to be solved, not to make you question your life choices—trust your instincts.

5. Prioritize your obstacles: Focus on one obstacle at a time—unless you enjoy the thrill of chaos, then go wild!


6. How to solve locks; Look for clues in the room to find the key or code. Solve puzzles to access the key to each lock. Apply pressure in the correct area. Locks in an escape room help you solve the puzzle to escape. Caesar Cipher:

Among the easiest to create, Caesar ciphers provide engaging challenges for escape parties. This straightforward substitution cipher shifts letters by a set number.

Indexing:

The most frequently encountered code or cipher in escape rooms, indexing sometimes incorporates Morse code or substitution ciphers, such as A=1, B=2. It is a technique for condensing a message by selecting a specific number of letters from each word.

Cipher Wheels:

A tool used to create encrypted messages for players to decode.

Vigenère Cipher:

A more intricate substitution cipher that requires players to discern the keyword to decode it employing a keyword to shift letters.
